Belinda Grace Brooks | Printmaker & Art Historian

I am a senior at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. I will graduate in May 2024 with a BA in Art History. My study has focused on the methods and strategies of art historical scholarship and research, with primary application to Modern and Contemporary artwork.

When I am not studying the artwork and impact of German American artist Eva Hesse and the network of artists who influenced her work. I am a printmaker experimenting with modern printmaking techniques. My artistic practice is a reflection of my identity through manipulation of the imagery of my childhood in an attempt to question my identity and make sense of a world I grew up with and how this impacts the way I approach contemporary social discourse.

My experiences as both a printmaker and an art historian work to understand the cultural and societal impacts of artwork as a method of documentation of individual and collective memory.
